Hundreds of British anti-austerity protesters assembled in London on Saturday afternoon to demand an early general election, many of them spotting yellow vests
A video posted by the rally's organizer, the People's Assembly Against Austerity, showed people gathering for the event under the slogan "Britain is Broken" before setting off toward parliament.
The march was joined by the People's Vote UK, a grassroots campaign which calls for a referendum on Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal proposal.
The withdrawal agreement is expected to be put to vote in parliament next week. Last month, May saw off a challenge to her leadership of the ruling Conservative Party over her handling of the Brexit process.
The yellow and orange vests were worn in the UK capital in recognition of the French movement, which began in November as an outcry against rising fuel taxes but has since grown into a nationwide protest at soaring living costs.
