IDB Distributes Adahi Meat Among The Needy In Africa

JEDDAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Dec, 2016 ) : Within the framework of the Saudi Project for the Utilization of Sacrificial Meat (Adahi), supervised by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), sacrificial meat is being distributed among the needy people according to the plan approved for the Hajj season 1437H (2016).
The plan consists of distributing 712,734 heads of animals, of which 518,234 among the needy people around the Grand Mosque and to 270 charity organizations all over Saudi Arabia. In addition, 195,000 heads of frozen animals will be delivered by air, land, and sea to the needy in 23 African and Asian countries.
A ship, carrying with 7,000 heads of frozen Adahi animals arrived Saturday in the Republic of Djibouti. Another ship arrived Sunday in Banjul Sea Port in Gambia with 5,000 heads of frozen animals onboard.
On Friday, a ship docked at Bissau Sea Port at Guinea Bissau with 5,000 heads of frozen animals onboard. IDB Group President Dr Bandar Hajjar expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the government of Saudi Arabia for their generous support to the project, which enables the bank to reach millions of beneficiaries across the world.
