IDF General Staff Chief Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi has sent two military brigades and a command center to the border with Gaza
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th March, 2019) IDF General Staff Chief Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi has sent two military brigades and a command center to the border with Gaza.
Earlier in the day, Israeli military and police said that a Palestinian rocket, fired from the Gaza Strip, had injured seven people.
"The head of the General Staff [Lt.] Gen. Kochavi has completed a number of meetings to assess the situation. Two military brigades and a command center of the military contingent were called to the southern [military] district," Adraee wrote on Twitter.
He added that Israel was ready for any development of the situation, which he qualified as serious.
Israel is bolstering its military presence at the border with Gaza and carrying out partial mobilization of reservists after the attack, according to the IDF.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he would cut his visit to the United States and return to Israel to take charge of a response to the attack.
