Incomes of the Ukrainian population increased by 9.8 percent in the first half of 2018 in comparison with the same period of 2017, while decreaing by 18 percent over the past 5 years, the Ukrainian National Bank said in a press release on Tuesday.
"The real disposable income of the population continues to grow for the second year in a row. In the first half of 2018, the real income of the population grew by 9.8 percent [in comparison with the same indicators of the last year]. But still amounts to 82 percent of the 2013 level," the press release read.
According to the National Bank data, in the first half of 2018, the wages of the population increased by 26 percent in comparison with the same period last year. However, a high inflation rate led to the fact that the real income of the population with low incomes grew moderately.
Earlier in December, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that the average monthly salary in Ukraine increased by almost 25 percent year-on-year and amounted to $330 in 2018.
