Indian Ruling National Democratic Alliance Winning General Elections - Preliminary Results

NEW DELHI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd May, 2019) India's ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party, has surpassed the 272-mandate threshold needed for winning the country's general elections, the Indian Election Commission said on Thursday, citing preliminary results of the vote.

The NDA currently has 310 seats in the lower house of the Indian parliament.

The Election Commission is expected to announce the final results of the elections later on Thursday.
