Indian, UK Prime Ministers Agree To Enhance Partnership In Science, Innovation - New Delhi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart, Boris Johnson, have agreed to further strengthen partnership in science, technology and innovation during a virtual summit, the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology said on Friday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 07th May, 2021) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart, Boris Johnson, have agreed to further strengthen partnership in science, technology and innovation during a virtual summit, the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology said on Friday.
"Both leaders met virtually on 4 May 2021 and emphasised their shared commitment to an enhanced partnership in science, education, research and innovation and look forward to the next ministerial Science and Innovation Council (SIC)," the ministry said in a press release.
The sides, in particular, agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation on promoting women in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine disciplines at schools, universities, and research institutions, to further jointly support high-quality, high-impact research and innovation, as well as to develop ties between "Industry, Academia and the Government to foster innovation among school students," among other things.
The officials also developed a common vision of a new and transformational Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, as well as adopted a roadmap to steer cooperation for the next 10 years.
