TEL AVIV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th September, 2018) An Israeli citizen who was stabbed by a young Palestinian in the West Bank died from injuries, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Israel's national ambulance service said that a 40-year-old man injured in a stabbing attack south of Jerusalem was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
"An Israeli civilian was stabbed to death this morning by a 16 year-old Palestinian terrorist at a mall, south of Jerusalem. The victim is a man in his forties. Our thoughts are with his family and friends," the ministry said on Twitter.
The ministry's spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon called it "unacceptable tragedy" and urged other countries to condemn the attack.
An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson said the attack was considered a terrorist act. According to the IDF, the attacker was shot and neutralized by a civilian.
