Israeli forces detained five Palestinians in their multiple raids, held overnight across the disputed West Bank territory, Palestinian media reported on Thursday, citing the Palestinian Prisoners Society
While three Palestinians, including a former prisoner, were detained in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, two others were seized in the central cities of Salfit and Ramallah, the WAFA news agency specified.
Israel and Palestine have been embroiled in a conflict for decades, with Palestinians seeking diplomatic recognition for their independent state on the territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the Israeli government refuses to recognize Palestine as an independent political and diplomatic entity.
