The poll, conducted on behalf of the European Parliament, showed that 44 percent of Italians said that they would vote to remain in the bloc "if a referendum was held tomorrow," compared to average 66 percent of support for the membership among the EU nations.
Only 24 percent of Italians said that they would vote to leave the European Union, which is lower than in the United Kingdom and Cyprus, where 35 percent and 26 percent, respectively, expressed their support for leaving the bloc, according to the survey.
