Italian Interior Minister Blames Arson Fire At Police Station On Immigrant

Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said on Tuesday that an arson fire, which broke out overnight at a police station in northern Italy, was started by a Moroccan immigrant
The fire ravaged the station in the city of Mirandola north of Bologna and triggered a blast at an apartment in the same building, killing an octogenarian woman and her 74-year-old caretaker and injuring a dozen others.
"You can die at 74 and 86 years because a Moroccan delinquent decides to set fire at night to a local police office... Instead of opening ports I want a Europe that will send these people home," Salvini tweeted.
Salvini is also deputy prime minister in a ruling coalition of two right-wing parties. He owes his popularity in part to a hard-line migration policy. Under him, Italy has repeatedly closed ports to migrant rescue ships.
