Jordan seeks to have a trilateral meeting with representatives of Russia and the United States to discuss dismantling Rukban refugee camp in Syria close to its border, a Jordanian source told Sputnik
"Jordan believes it is imperative to have a trilateral meeting with Russia and the United States to continue discussion of de-establishing Rukban refugee camp in Syria and to ensure safe return of its residents to their areas ... Jordan believes de-establishing Rukban is the only solution to the problem," the source said.
During the conference of Syrian donors in Brussels earlier this week, Jordanian officials made it clear that Rukban "is not a Jordanian problem" and that Jordan is not going to take on any responsibility for addressing the situation in the camp.
"These are Syrian people on Syrian territory and the issue should be dealt with from within Syria. The solution is clear ensure safe return of these people to their homes," the source said.
