Jordan's Parliamentary Delegation To Visit Damascus, Meet With Assad - Lawmaker

AMMAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th November, 2018) A parliamentary delegation from Jordan will start its visit to Syria on Sunday and meet with the country's leadership, including Syrian President Bashar Assad, Jordanian lawmaker Kais Zayadin told Sputnik.

The visit will start on Sunday and will last for a two or four days, according to the preliminary information.

"At the moment, there is no clear timetable [for a visit to Syria], but the program includes a meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad, the Prime Minister [Imad Khamis] and the Speaker of Parliament [Hammouda Sabbagh]," Zayadin said.

The lawmaker noted that the visit is not "formal" and is aimed at reinvigorating bilateral ties and achieving real results as the Jordanian delegation includes head of committees on energy and transport.
