Kazakhstan's domestic and foreign policy will remain unchanged despite the resignation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, a Foreign Ministry official told Sputnik on Tuesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th March, 2019) Kazakhstan's domestic and foreign policy will remain unchanged despite the resignation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, a Foreign Ministry official told Sputnik on Tuesday.

Nazarbayev announced his resignation earlier in the day in a televised address to the nation.

A presidential election in Kazakhstan is planned to take place in 2020.

"Foreign and domestic policies of Kazakhstan will not see any changes," the official, who preferred to stay unnamed, told Sputnik, when asked how the president's resignation is going to change the political agenda of the country.
