KIEV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said on Friday that Kiev had torn up 49 agreements with Moscow, adding that nearly 50 other accords could be terminated in the future.
"A total of 49 agreements with Russia have ceased to exist. We will consistently follow this track. Now, we are working on [terminating] almost 50 other agreements, which is the so-called second package. We are reviewing the entire legal framework with Russia," Klimkin said at a briefing aired by Ukrainian television.
Relations between Moscow and Kiev deteriorated in 2014 after Crimea's reunification with Russia and amid the crisis in eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities have accused Russia of interfering in Ukraine's internal affairs and being involved in the conflict in Donbas.
Russia has repeatedly denied the allegations, stressing that it is not party to the civil conflict in Ukraine and wanted the country to overcome its political and economic crises.
