MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 05th April, 2019) Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov praised on Friday the statement by US President Donald Trump that Moscow, Washington and Beijing should agree and spend less on armaments, but said the proposal should be converted into a specific initiative.
Earlier, Trump, at a meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, said the United States, Russia and China should agree and cut spending on armaments. Liu called it a "good idea."
"Certainly, any appeal in favor of disarmament deserves attention and high praise. It is very important that this appeal should not be limited to declarations, but converted into concrete, formulated initiatives and proposals formalized on paper and communicated through official channels to interlocutors," Peskov told reporters.
He said that Moscow had not received the proposal in this form.
