MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2019) The test launch of an unmanned Soyuz MS spacecraft on a Soyuz 2.1a carrier rocket will take place on August 22, three weeks earlier than planned, a Russian space industry source told Sputnik.

"The launch of an unmanned Soyuz was previously scheduled for September 12, but according to a new plan it is now slated for August 22. Due to the change in schedule, the spacecraft will spend 12 days docked with the International Space Station, rather than 32," the source said.

According to the source, the launch is necessary to test the interaction of the systems of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket and the Soyuz MS spacecraft with the new emergency rescue system.
