Lavrov, OSCE Chair Discuss Extending Mandate of OSCE Observers in Ukraine - Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Slovak counterpart Miroslav Lajcak, who is the chairperson-in-office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), discussed the extension of the mandate of OSCE observers in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 27th March, 2019) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Slovak counterpart Miroslav Lajcak, who is the chairperson-in-office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), discussed the extension of the mandate of OSCE observers in Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

"On March 26, a phone conversation between Russian Foreign Minister S. V. Lavrov and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Slovak Foreign Minister M. Lajcak took place. The upcoming extension of the mandate of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine was discussed, with a focus on monitoring and support to ensure the rights of national minorities on language, education, religion and other issues," the ministry said.
