Lawyer Caputova Front-Runner In Slovak Presidential Election Runoff - Poll

Lawyer Zuzana Caputova is the favorite to win the Slovak presidential election runoff with a backing of around 60 percent of the potential vote, a fresh poll showed on Thursday
On Saturday, Caputova won the first round of the presidential election with 40.57 percent of the vote. Her competitor in the runoff, European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic, finished second with 18.7 percent. The runoff will be held on March 30. The one who gets a simple majority of votes will win the election.
According to the Median SK public opinion poll, Caputova is backed by 60.5 percent of voters, and Sefcovic by 39.5 percent.
As many as 44 percent of respondents intend to come to polling places to vote in the runoff, while 20 percent are still undecided. The voter turnout in the first round of election was 48.74 percent.
The country-wide poll was conducted by phone among 1,014 adults, and the margin of error was not indicated.
