The organizers of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2019) have said that Russia outshined everyone during the airshow, which was dominated by Russian aircraft, Viktor Kladov, the director for international cooperation and regional policy at Russian state corporation Rostec, said in an interview with Sputnik
The exposition opened on Malaysia's Langkawi Island on Tuesday and will last through Saturday.
"I have met with the [Malaysian] Defense Ministry's leadership, who were all saying that 'Russians stole the show at the expo,' because there was no one but Russians in the sky: first, there were the Russian Knights, then they made way for the Russian [Sukhoi] Su-30MKM [fighters] of the Malaysian Air Force, and then Russian Yak-130, at least operated by Malaysian pilots, were amazing the crowd," Kladov said.
During the exposition, the Russian Knights aerobatic team made its first appearance on the latest Su-30SM multirole fighters.
Russia has also showcased the combat capabilities of its Yak-130 operational trainer during the LIMA airshow.
Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, in turn, has demonstrated hundreds of pieces of military equipment and materiel at the expo, along with scaled-down models of Russian military helicopters, warships and submarines.
