Lima Group To Meet Next Week To Discuss Venezuelan Crisis - Colombian President

Colombian President Ivan Duque said the Lima Group will hold a meeting the next week in Bogota to discuss the situation in Venezuela
MEXICO CITY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th February, 2019) Colombian President Ivan Duque said the Lima Group will hold a meeting the next week in Bogota to discuss the situation in Venezuela.
"We will receive the Lima Group the next week in Bogota. All countries of this hemisphere will give it the most powerful support, necessary for leading the transition [to democracy in Venezuela]," Duque said, as quoted by the Nacional news outlet.
Meanwhile, the EFE news agency reported, citing sources, that the next meeting of the Lima Group will be held on February 25.
The bloc met for the previous time on February 4 in Ottawa.
During the summit, the group recognized Juan Guaido, the Venezuelan opposition leader who has proclaimed himself the country's interim president, and accepted him as a member of the bloc.
Guaido proclaimed himself the interim president in January. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who was supported by China and Russia among other states, has called him a "puppet" of Washington.
The Lima Group of countries seeking to end the crisis in Venezuela was created in 2017. It Includes Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Guyana, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay and Peru.
