Magnitude 6.0 Quake Hits Off Taiwanese Coast - Chinese Seismological Center

6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the northeastern coast of Taiwan, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said on Tuesday.

BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd October, 2018) A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the northeastern coast of Taiwan, the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said on Tuesday.

The epicenter of the quake was registered at the depth of about 30 kilometers (18.

6 miles) some 104 kilometers off the coast of Taiwan's Hualien county at 12.34 p.m. local time (04:34 GMT).

The US Geological Survey measured the quake as having 5.7 magnitude.

There has been no information about any damages or victims caused by the quake. No tsunami alert has been issued either.
