MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th March, 2019) An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude was registered on Wednesday 16 kilometers (10 miles) south of the Turkish city of Acipayam and 32 kilometers west of Tefenni town, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said.

The seismic activity was registered at 06:34 GMT at the depth of 27 kilometers.

Hulusi Sevkan, the mayor of Acipayam, located in the western Denizli Province, said that there were no fatalities and casualties, according to preliminary data. He added that all the local rescue services were mobilized, and citizens were asked to leave their homes as a protective measure.
