Malaysian Prime Minister Wants To Visit Russia, Date Uncertain -Malaysian Foreign Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st November, 2018) Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad would like to hold a visit to Russia, but he does not currently know the exact date of the visit, as it will depend on his schedule, Marzuki Yahya , Malaysian deputy foreign minister, said on Wednesday, asked to comment on Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent invitation for Mohamad to visit Russia.
�Putin voiced his invitation in mid-November during a recent meeting with Mohamad on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Singapore.
"I can't confirm anything as I was not present during that conversation. As far as I know, Russian president invited Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to hold a visit to Russia, but we have not received any confirmation from our prime minister regarding when he will be able to visit Russia," Yahya told reporters on the sidelines of the Asian conference of the Valdai Discussion Club.
When asked if Mohamad wanted to attend an economic forum in Russia, Yahya said that Mohamad would "certainly" like to attend one, while everything depended on his agenda.
