WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) Deputy National Security Adviser Mira Ricardel does not deserve to have a job in the White House, First Lady Melania Trump's spokeperson Stephanie Grisham said on Tuesday amid reports that President Donald Trump will soon oust the official.
Ricardel "no longer deserves the honor of serving in the White House" Grisham said in a statement, as quoted by NBC news.
US media reported earlier on Tuesday that President Donald Trump decided to fire Ricardel at the urging of the First Lady.
Melania Trump's staff fought with Ricardel during the first lady's trip to Africa last month over seating arrangements on the plane and requests to use National Security Council resources, media reports added.
Media reports also indicate that Ricardel did not get along with Defense Secretary James Mattis.
Despite these reports, Ricardel attended a Diwali ceremony Trump held at the White House earlier on Tuesday.
