German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron in Berlin for talks slated for Sunday, Martina Fietz, the deputy spokeswoman for the German government, said on Wednesday.

"During negotiations, Chancellor Merkel and President Macron will discuss bilateral [relations] as well as European and international politics," Fietz stated at a briefing.

The meeting will come just days after the two politicians took part in the ceremony to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice that brought World War I to an end and the Paris Peace Forum.
