Merkel, Putin Discussed Russian Gas Transit Via Ukraine In Phone Talks - German Cabinet

BERLIN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th December, 2018) German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed in phone talks on Monday the transit of Russian natural gas through Ukraine after 2019, the press service of the German government said.
"The [German] Chancellor and the [Russian] President also discussed gas transit from Russia through Ukraine after 2019, as well as the situation in Syria with focus on the formation of a constitutional committee," the press service said in a statement.
According to the statement, the central topic of the discussion was the recent Kerch Strait incident involving Russia and Ukraine.
"The sides also discussed the situation around the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty [INF Treaty]," the statement said.
