German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Argentina on Saturday morning, as planned, the German cabinet's deputy spokesperson Martina Fietz said Friday amid reports that Merkel's aircraft had made an emergency landing in Cologne on its way to the G20 summit in Argentina due to a technical malfunction.

"The meeting with Putin will take place tomorrow morning, as planned," Fietz said, adding that Merkel's program in Buenos Aires was currently being revised to include meetings missed on Friday.
