Militants from the US-controlled area around Syria's At Tanf are hindering the return of Syrian refugees from Jordan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) Militants from the US-controlled area around Syria's At Tanf are hindering the return of Syrian refugees from Jordan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday.
"The United States has created a unilateral security zone in the At Tanf area, which includes the Rukban refugee.
They do not allow the UN inside this camp, they prevent deliveries of humanitarian aid. Militants, including the Nusra Front [terrorist group, banned in Russia], periodically carry out raids from this camp on the Damascus-liberated areas in this part of Syria in order to prevent the return of refugees from Jordan," Lavrov told a press conference after talks with his Lebanese counterpart Gebran Bassil.
