CHISINAU (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) Moldovan President Igor Dodon is the most popular and trustworthy politician in the republic, followed in a distant second by one of the country's opposition leaders, a fresh poll revealed on Monday.
According to a poll by Moldova's Association of Sociologists and Demographers, Dodon enjoys a 34 percent trust and popularity rating among the population, a 1.7 percent bump from January.
Maia Sandu, one of the leaders of the opposition ACUM bloc, got a 6.2 percent rating, an improvement of 1.3 percent from the month prior. Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip was the third most popular politician in the country with a rating of 4.
4 percent, which is down 1.6 percent from the previous month. Former Prime Minister and leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii received a 4.1 percent rating. The ratings of other politicians were less than 4 percent.
At the same time, 1.3 percent of respondents could not pick a suitable candidate among those proposed, 19.2 percent said that they did not trust politicians at all, while 13.1 percent refused to give an answer.
The poll was conducted on February 1-14 among 1,195 people from 83 settlements in Moldova.
