Moldovan President Igor Dodon told Sputnik on Saturday that he would not recall Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta
MUNICH (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th February, 2019) Moldovan President Igor Dodon told Sputnik on Saturday that he would not recall Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta.
On Wednesday, Moldovan Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexandr Roitman told Sputnik that the ministry asked the cabinet to recall Neguta.
The Moldovan Foreign Ministry declined to explain the reason for its demand.
"We won't [recall Neguta]. He remains in his place, because without a decree signed by the president, he cannot be recalled," Dodon said.
Neguta was appointed Moldova's top diplomat to Russia in spring 2017. He was pulled back for consultations in December of that year and returned to Moscow last March.
