Washington, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2019 ) :Montana Governor Steve Bullock on Tuesday entered the crowded race for the Democratic Party's 2020 nomination, becoming the 22nd candidate vying to challenge President Donald Trump.
In his campaign launch video, Bullock pointed to his record as twice-elected governor of the traditionally Republican-leaning western US state of Montana.
"To give everyone a fair shot, we must do more than defeat Donald Trump," he tweeted.
"We have to defeat the corrupt system that keeps people like him in power, and we need a fighter who's done it before.
"That's why I'm running for President." In the video he pledged to crack down on corrupt practices including campaign finance, and to boost his party's appeal in typically Red states.
Bullock, a 53-year-old lawyer, has also served as attorney-general of Montana.
He joins a crowded field currently led by former vice-president Joe Biden.
Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg and former congressman Beto O'Rourke are also among those running.
