More Ships Heading to Russian Ports Than to Ukrainian Were Inspected Apr-Dec - FSB

The number of ships heading to Russian ports via the Kerch Strait that Russian border guards have inspected from April 1 to December 1 exceeds the number of ships heading to Ukrainian ports that have been inspected, Alexei Volsky, the first deputy head of the Russian Security Service's (FSB) coast guard department, said on Saturday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 08th December, 2018) The number of ships heading to Russian ports via the Kerch Strait that Russian border guards have inspected from April 1 to December 1 exceeds the number of ships heading to Ukrainian ports that have been inspected, Alexei Volsky, the first deputy head of the Russian Security Service's (FSB) coast guard department, said on Saturday.

"A total of 18,783 vessels have gone through the Kerch Strait between April 1 and December 1, 2018. A total of 2,052 vessels have been inspected before they entered the Kerch-Yenikale Canal. A total of 1,183 of them were transporting cargo to the Russian ports on the Sea of Azov, and only 869 were headed to the Ukrainian ports. Obviously, more ships have entered Russian ports. There's no talk about any kind of blockade," Volsky said at a briefing at Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.
