More than 200 Central Asian Military Forces Take Part in Training Drills in US - CENTCOM

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) More than 200 soldiers from Afghanistan, Mongolia and other Central Asian countries have arrived to Camp Edwards in the US state of Massachusetts to take part in an annual multinational military training exercises, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a press release on Monday.

"US Central Command is hosting the annual, multinational exercise Regional Cooperation 2018 at Camp Edwards on Joint Base Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Sept 10-21," the release said.� "More than 200 participants from Afghanistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and observers from Kazakhstan will focus on stability operations, border security, counter terrorism, counter narcotics, and counter proliferation during this exercise.

"

The group will work on combined military responses to several scenarios in order to improve interoperability, increase functional capacity, and enhance responsiveness, the release said.

CENTCOM's Spokesman is quoted as saying the exercise allows the US military to work with other countries on trust and enhancing capabilities.
