More Than Half In UK Support Increased Taxes, More Government Spending - Poll

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st September, 2018) Sixty percent of UK residents want the government to increase taxes and spend more, a survey showed Friday.
As many as 67 percent of Labour supporters and 53 percent of Conservative supporters think that the government should tax more and spend more on public services, the survey by the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) showed.
According to the survey, 54 percent would like the government to spend more on health, 26 percent would like a higher spending on education, seven percent want the authorities to spend more on housing.
Similar research in 2016 showed that 49 percent were in favor of more taxes, while in 2010 there were 31 percent of them.
