Moscow Does Not Accept Humanitarian Intervention Methods US May Use In Venezuela - Ryabkov

Moscow does not accept humanitarian intervention methods the United States may use in Venezuela, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Tuesday after talks with US Special Representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams
"The consultation participants noted significant humanitarian problems faced by the people and authorities of Venezuela. Russia supports the provision of humanitarian assistance through the use of channels based on the UN General Assembly resolution, including the resources and capabilities of relevant international institutions, strict observance of the principles of impartiality, professionalism and avoidance of politicization of this process, especially in a situation of acute humanitarian crisis," Ryabkov said.
"The concept of humanitarian intervention, which was prepared several years ago at the suggestion of the United States and which, we think, may be used in Venezuela, is unacceptable to us," he said.
