MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th February, 2019) Moscow hopes that Moldova's newly-elected parliament will be ready to cooperate with Russia, Konstantin Kosachev, the Russian Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee chairman, told Sputnik on Monday.
Moldova has its general elections on Sunday.
After 98 percent of the ballots have been counted, the Party of Socialists is leading with over 31 percent of the votes.
We would like to hope that the new parliament in Moldova will be ready to resume full-scale dialogue between the two parliaments that was effectively frozen by former speaker [Andrian] Candu and to return to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly where Moldovan lawmakers have unfortunately been participating only by personal initiatives," Kosachev said.
