KABUL (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) Moscow has not yet received a comprehensible response from Kabul on supplies of Mi family of helicopters, the United States firmly seeks to replace Russian equipment with its own, Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Alexander Mantytsky told Sputnik in an interview.
"Unfortunately, we have not received a comprehensible positive response.
It is hard to say whether the Afghan side would continue such cooperation, because the United States firmly seeks to replace our equipment with its own, and he who pays the piper calls the tune," Mantytsky said.
According to the diplomat, Washington's policies on Afghanistan are still aimed at replacing Russian-made Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-25 and Mi-35 helicopters, which are currently used in Afghanistan, with the US-made aircraft.
