MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) Russia has asked Oman to scrap visa requirements for its citizens, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.
"Today, we reminded about our initiative to sign an inter-parliamentary agreement to cancel visas for our citizens on a permanent basis," Lavrov said at a press conference after talks with his Omani counterpart, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.
A direct air link between Moscow and Muscat was set up last October. Oman has also decided to ease visa rules for Russian citizens. Lavrov said this would help broaden business and tourism flows.
