WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th November, 2018) Almost two thirds of US voters want to see another president instead of Donald Trump elected in the 2020, a new national Monmouth University poll revealed.
Fifty-nine percent of poll respondents said they want to see another president elected in 2020, while 36 percent said they are ready to support Trump again.
The poll results showed that Trump's approval rating in 43 percent and 49 percent of respondents said they disapprove of the job the US president is doing.
The last poll taken before the November 6 midterm congressional elections showed similar results, Monmouth University said.
"It seems that some Americans are okay with Trump as president now but feel that four years might be enough," Monmouth University Polling Institute Director Patrick Murray said.
Fifty-two percent of respondents said that checking Trump should be a major priority for Congress. At the same time, 36 percent of respondents said impeaching Trump is necessary, and almost two-thirds disagree with that position.
The poll also revealed that the investigation into allegations of Trump-Russia collusion continues to be a major topic of political life in the United States.
Fifty-four percent of respondents said that investigation should continue while 43 percent said it should end.
The poll was conducted by phone from November 9 to 12 among 802 adults across the United States.
