Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila on Monday said Muslim community in Romania enjoys full rights of freedom of worship and is living in harmony with other religious cults, according to a press release of the Romanian Government.

The Romanian prime minister expressed these views during a visit to the Grand Mosque of Muscat.

She signed the Books of Honour of the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman, the Grand Mosque of the Qaboos Sultanate and the Royal Opera of Muscat.

According to her, one of the most beautiful modern mosques in the world that combines varied Islamic architectural styles from the middle East and Oman, the Grand Mosque of the Sultanate of Qaboos is known for the fact that it holds the largest handmade carpet, a single piece (70x60m) and the largest chandelier in the world, glistening with 24-carat gold.

Established through a Royal Decree in 2013 and inaugurated on 30 of July 206, the National Museum of the Sultanate of Oman presents the history and tradition of the country, through the 7,000 exhibits, reunited in the 12 thematic galleries.

The Romanian prime minister took note of the historical track of the exhibits, which present the evolution from the oldest human settlement in the Oman Peninsula, approximately 2 million years ago.

She expressed the interest of the Romanian state present in the Omani cultural life, within the military and traditional music festivals, organized and hosted annually by the Royal Opera.

At the end of the visit, Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Mona bint Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for External Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, offered a dinner in honour of Prime Minister Viorica Dancila.
