Nazarbayev's Daughter Elected New Speaker Of Kazakhstan's Senate

The deputies of the Senate of Kazakhstan elected Dariga Nazarbayeva, the eldest daughter of former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, as the upper house's speaker on Wednesday
ASTANA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th March, 2019) The deputies of the Senate of Kazakhstan elected Dariga Nazarbayeva, the eldest daughter of former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, as the upper house's speaker on Wednesday.
Nazarbayev announced his resignation on Tuesday. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has been sworn in as the acting president earlier in the day. He will perform the presidential functions until the 2020 election.
