BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :As November 11, China's version of "Black Friday," is drawing near, young Chinese are filling their shopping carts on e-commerce sites that will offer attractive discounts and promotions.
A survey released by Tuesday's China Youth Daily showed that 68.1 percent of the 1,969 respondents take into account the price-performance ratio of products and their own economic conditions when shopping online.
A total of 61.1 percent of those surveyed said young people should buy things related to their interests or hobbies.
More than half of the interviewed said big discounts might lure them into buying products that were not on their shopping list, while 41.
2 percent feel tired of the five or so shopping festivals in China each year.
"Consumers buy things at lower prices, but they may not use them," said Zhang Lu, an intern of Xiamen Construction and Development Corporation. "It's hard to say whether they save money or not.""Young people should be rational while shopping, which means buying things that are environmentally-friendly and can improve themselves," said Xue Haibo, associate professor of the Faculty of Economics and Management of East China Normal University.
"They should choose more "green" products that are good for sustainable development while minimizing the negative impact on the environment," Xue said.
