Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin described the Scotland Yard's claims about one more Russian citizen's involvement in the Skripal case as "another lie" and expressed the belief this could be an attempt to divert public attention from NATO's shameful escape from Afghanistan
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2021) Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin described the Scotland Yard's claims about one more Russian citizen's involvement in the Skripal case as "another lie" and expressed the belief this could be an attempt to divert public attention from NATO's shameful escape from Afghanistan.
"In my opinion, this is an attempt to cover up or support previous lies with yet another lie," Naryshkin told reporters on Thursday.
"In addition, in light of the recent events in Afghanistan, this is probably an attempt to divert the public attention from the shameful escape from Afghanistan, primarily by the troops of the US and its allies, including the United Kingdom, an attempt to distract attention from the fact that NATO is no longer able to maintain security," Naryshkin continued.
