DEIR QAQ (Syria) (UrduPoint news / Sputnik - 22nd April, 2019) Syrian government forces exchanged nine militants for nine Syrian nationals held by the armed opposition, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation said in a statement Monday.

"On April 22, in the area of the town of Tadef, in the province of Aleppo, nine Syrian citizens held by armed opposition forces were exchanged for nine members of illegal armed groups," the statement said.

It said the exchange had been organized with the participation of representatives of the Russian, Turkish and Iranian defense ministries in the framework of a working group established following the international meeting on Syria in Astana on December 22, 2017.
