No EU Member State Has Enough Power To Negotiate With China On Equal Footing - Mogherini

None of the EU countries have enough strength to negotiate with China on equal terms, so they need a unified approach to Beijing, EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said on Monday
Earlier in the day, EU foreign ministers discussed the future of relations between Europe and China with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
"None of our member states has the size, the impact, the power to negotiate anything with China on an equal footing," Mogherini said after the talks of the EU foreign ministers with the Chinese delegation in Brussels.
According to Mogherini, EU member states can only together aspire for good negotiations, whether on trade or investment or security issues.
Last week, the European Commission and Mogherini submitted a list of 10 proposals for balancing relations with China amid the latter's growing economic power and political influence.
