NEW YORK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Augst,2016) : Emergency agencies rushed to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport in response to a report Sunday night that shots had been fired, but there was no gunfire, authorities said.
Police declared early Monday that the two terminals where reports emerged had been searched and cleared. They said they have not found any firearms, rounds of ammunition, shell casings or other evidence of gunfire. Officers from the New York Police Department were called in to assist with the investigation.
Police evacuated the airport's Terminal 8 as a precaution after receiving reports of shots fired near the departures area.
A short time later, police also closed Terminal 1 after they said they received additional reports of shots fired in that terminal. The Van Wyck Expressway approaching the airport also was shut down. Passengers posted pictures and videos on Twitter showing crowds of people gathered outside the terminals.
