Number Of Chinese Tourists In Crimea Grew 2.5 Times In 2018 Compared To 2017 - Official

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 02nd January, 2019) Chinese tourists visited Crimea 2.5 times more last year as compared to 2017, deputy prime minister of the Crimean government, Georgy Muradov, told Sputnik Wednesday.
"Naturally, we are interested in attracting Chinese tourists and we note the increase in the number of Chinese vicitors in Crimea. In 2017, there were 1,700 Chinese tourists.
This year, the number exceeds 4,000 people," the official said.
According to Muradov, Chinese tourists have special requirements for their destinations, including national cuisine, absence of language barrier, particular sightseeing program. Therefore, the peninsula will continue to develop conditions for attracting more visitors from China, the official pledged.
Crimea reunited with Russia in 2014, following a referendum in which 97 percent of residents participating int he ballot voted in favor of the move.
