Nusra Front terrorist group (banned in Russia) is violating the rules of the demilitarized zone in the Syrian province of Idlib, terrorists have taken up 70 percent of the territory, despite the Russian-Turkish agreement on a buffer zone, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) Nusra Front terrorist group (banned in Russia) is violating the rules of the demilitarized zone in the Syrian province of Idlib, terrorists have taken up 70 percent of the territory, despite the Russian-Turkish agreement on a buffer zone, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday.
"We are concerned that Nusra Front ... dominates in Idlib, despite the agreement on creating a demilitarized zone there. It violates the demilitarised zone, nearly 70 percent of this zone is taken by terrorists. They attempt to shell positions of the Syrian army, settlements and even try to threaten our air base in Hmeimim," Lavrov said after talks with German counterpart Heiko Maas.
