Oman to Advocate for Intensification of Trade, Tourism Ties With Russia - Foreign Minister

Oman will advocate for further development of cooperation with Russia, including the increase in tourism flows and trade, Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah said Monday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th February, 2019) Oman will advocate for further development of cooperation with Russia, including the increase in tourism flows and trade, Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah said Monday.

"As for our bilateral relations, they are based on partnership and mutual trust. We will welcome and advocate for the increase in tourism flows, increase in trade and economic relations," bin Alawi said ahead of his talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

The minister added the current state of relations between Russia and Oman and high level of trust was beneficial to finding solutions to the global issues, including to conflicts in the middle East.

"This helps us discuss and find common approach to solving key problems on the international agenda," bin Alawi explained.

Last week, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Omani minister would visit Moscow for talks with Lavrov, adding that the sides would discuss the development of the situation in the Middle East and North Africa with an emphasis on the need to resolve regional conflicts by political and diplomatic means.
