BAKU (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th March, 2019) Members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-cartel producers improved their implementation of the OPEC-non-OPEC oil production cut deal in February compared to January's levels, OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo said on Sunday.
At the same time, the OPEC head recommended the media workers to wait for the final figures that will be presented after the meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) in Baku on March 18.
The JMMC is preceded by the meeting of the Joint Technical Committee of OPEC and non-OPEC experts in the Azerbaijani capital.
Last December, the participants of the OPEC-non-OPEC oil output cut deal, which has been in force since 2017, agreed to reduce overall production by 1.2 million barrels per day, compared to October 2018, for six months starting from 2019.
